30 Days of Writing

Today marks the 30th day I have written and published a story on medium. I want to write a proper article about my adventures in this discipline. For now I am sitting here at the end of a long day, beer in hand, writing a blog post.

It is a Sunday and I slept in a little later than usual. My routine was a tad thrown off because one of our children has a birthday this Wednesday and we are remodeling their room while they are at their other home with their other parents.

If I had not committed myself to this practice there is zero chance I would be sitting here right now typing. That is the beauty of making a promise to yourself and sticking with it. I think we often sell ourselves short. We think we can not run a marathon, start a business, shake hands with a former President, start a YouTube channel, etc…

Every time I do a 30 day challenge and I stick to it without missing a day I have a new found confidence in myself. I start to realize how much I am really getting in my own way.

If you are not dead, there is time. If you do not like what you are doing in your life you can make a change. It is never going to happen over night, but you can start today. Whatever you have been wanting to do but keep putting off just decide you are going to take 10 minutes a day to start chipping away at it. Commit to it for 30 days and do not be afraid. It won’t be perfect and you may decide you actually hate whatever it is you are doing for the experiment.

However you will have the knowledge that you can make a change, you can commit, and you still can learn new skills.
