I have ran every day for 70 days.

A few years ago I tried to run around the block and I couldn’t do it. I made it half way and I had to stop. My legs were incredibly sore the next morning.

I didn’t run again for several months.

Now I am in a good stride, pun intended. I have even accidentally started to think that I am some sort of badass. Luckily for me and my ego I am living in a new home that is surrounded by new properties being built. It has been in the low 90’s with heavy humidity for the last couple of weeks.

The ego really gets going when I am on a run where I get so sweaty that it looks like I may have just jumped in a pool. I usually my run a few blocks away from our home.

I walk with confidence in my Adidas short shorts and my $80 racing shirt.

Then I see the men who have been building these homes. They are wearing long sleeve shirts and pants. They are on the roofs of these homes hammering and nailing away. They take one break in an eight to ten hour stretch of work…

I am privileged. I owe everything I have to a ton of work done by other people.

After spending my 20's not trying I am spending my 30's trying.
